Ready to give your dining room a fresh look? With a little creativity, transform your dining set without breaking the bank! In this episode of DIY Friday at the WCCO studio, New Brighton ReStore Manager Jan shares an easy, affordable project for your home.
Maybe you have a dining set that's been passed down through a few generations—you don't want to get rid of it, but it doesn't match your style. Or maybe that new dining set from a big box store that you have your eye on isn't in your budget. Whatever your reason for wanting to upgrade, the solution may be easier (and more affordable!) than you first thought.
In just three hours, Jan totally transformed a dining set. Her project used simple materials: chalk paint from ReStore and new fabric. Here's an overview of her process:
Remove the old cushion and upholstery.
Cut the new fabric using the old fabric as a pattern.
Staple the new fabric to your original cushion.
Paint as desired.
Jan used chalk paint for her green chair. It's easy to use, but there are a few tips and tricks she has to share—visit ReStore to connect with Jan and learn more! And while you're there, you can shop for the furniture for your next creative DIY project! Shopping at ReStore saves you money while supporting affordable housing and helping the environment.
And when you're ready to get started on your own dining room DIY, don't forget to sign up for the latest deals to save even more at both ReStore locations in New Brighton and south Minneapolis!
