Month-by-Month Calendar of DIY Home Decor Crafts

Month-by-Month Calendar of DIY Home Decor Crafts

No matter what time of year it is, crafting is fun! So, fill your home with cute DIY home decor crafts or give them as gifts using this month-to-month calendar for 2019. We have a different project for each month to keep those creative juices flowing.

Let’s get crafting!

January: Repurposing Pallets

Pallets repurposed as a table.

If one of your goals for the new year is to try to live more sustainably, using old pallets to create these fun projects is the perfect way to get started. Create a beautiful wine rack for your kitchen or a coffee table for your patio. If you plan on doing some gardening this year, create a compost bin with three compartments so you can rotate your compost throughout the summer.

February: Gifts for Valentine's Day

Handmade gifts are a great way to show that special someone how much you care. We have five different projects for you, all of which make great gifts and add personalization to home decor. You can create a multipurpose hanger for the environmentally-conscious person in your life, or DIY seed starters for your garden-loving friend. Or, make tile coasters and a one-of-a-kind mug for the perfect way to impress that special someone.

March: Crafts Using Scrap Wood

Keeping with the sustainability theme, scrap wood projects are a great way to get rid of any extra materials you have laying around the house. We have seven projects to choose from including candle holders, a hanging shelf, bookends, and even wall sconces. Pick your favorite or make them all!

April: Handmade Planters

Spring is the perfect time of year for this DIY project. Handmade planters are a great way to show off the beauty of spring flowers in full bloom and add to your garden decor. You can use an old dresser or watering can to hold your favorite blossoms, or use an old soup ladle for your favorite succulents. Either way, you and your friends will love these creative options for décor.

May: A Gift for Mother's Day

Mother’s Day is the focus of this month’s project. Nothing shows mom how much you love and appreciate her like a handmade gift and planters are the gift that keeps on giving. A mini herb garden or painted pots with mom’s favorite flowers will remind mom of you every time she waters them.

June: Something Just For Dad

Dad is in the spotlight this month and we have several fun DIY projects that make great gifts for the world’s best dad. A baseball hat rack is perfect for the baseball enthusiast and makes dad’s collection of hats into a home décor feature. An Adirondack chair spruces up the patio and DIY beer coasters add character to the coffee table. These are just a few of the great gift ideas on our June DIY list.

July: A Chair for Enjoying Summer

Summer is in full swing and what better way to celebrate than relaxing in your own Adirondack chair? This tutorial will help you personalize your very own chair. Better yet, get a few friends together and you can all make your own chairs and then have a summer barbecue!

These five easy DIY home decor crafts are a great way to bring in the fall season. From adding fall leaves, pine cones, and other fall things to a basket to creating a birdhouse decorated in fall colors, these five projects are sure to get you into the mood for fall!

It’s time for Halloween and that means lots of pumpkins and a bit of scary décor! We have some quick and easy DIY home decor crafts that will turn your home into the spookiest house on the block! From Halloween signs to spidery window décor, we have a project for everyone.

November: A Serving Tray for Hosting
