Year in Review: Your Impact with ReStore

Year in Review: Your Impact with ReStore

Year after year, you continue to make an impact through ReStore. Thanks to our amazing supporters, donors, volunteers, and shoppers, we accomplished many things worth celebrating last year. Keep reading to discover your impact!

Shoppers

During the last year, 73,419 ReStore shoppers made purchases at our stores. We're happy to welcome all kinds of shoppers, from people looking for a great deal to creative DIYers and folks who want to support Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. There are many reasons people shop at ReStore, and we're thankful for each and every person who comes through our doors.

We also hosted three upcycle contests throughout the year, and our shoppers showed up with their amazing DIY transformations! Be sure to check out the Fall Flip, Big Ideas, Small Spaces, and Spring Into Summer contest results. And whether you're a ReStore regular or have yet to visit, make sure to sign up for our Hot Deals emails or VIP Club to get the latest sales!

Donations

We received 18,972 donations from donors who brought items to ReStore or used our pickup services last year. Everyone at ReStore—shoppers, volunteers, and staff—enjoy seeing what comes through the door. And since our inventory changes often and donations arrive daily, there's always something new to find at ReStore. Our amazing donors help us offer a variety of items, furniture, and materials. They're why ReStore has something for everyone!

If you'd like to donate to ReStore, take a look at our Donation Guidelines first. Then you can visit either ReStore location to drop off your donation or schedule a pickup. (Did you know you can donate cabinets, appliances, paint to be recycled, and more?)

Environment

Whenever you donate to or shop at ReStore, you're not only getting a great deal—you're also helping our environment. Last year, you kept 4.6 million pounds of materials from going to landfills. That's amazing! The more we can keep out of landfills the better. They contribute to all kinds of pollution and negatively impact plants, animals, our planet, and humans.

It's worth nothing that while ReStore accepts many donations, we can't accept everything. If you have items we don't take, like electronics, check out our list of other donation options in the Twin Cities. And if you have a vehicle to donate, consider Habitat's Cars for Homes program!

Volunteers

It takes a lot of work to keep ReStore running, and our volunteers help us do what we do. Last year, volunteers logged 8,117 hours at our two metro locations. From regular volunteers to those who tried something new, volunteers make our mission possible. They unload and sort donations, stock shelves, assist customers, clean, and so much more. We all work together to keep ReStore a great place to shop, donate, and volunteer!

If you're curious about volunteering, try signing up for a shift to see if it works for you. The best part? No experience needed! Plus, volunteers always get 20% off at ReStore.

Mission

Since ReStore directly supports Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, we can't leave out one of the biggest parts of our yearly impact: homeownership. Our revenue goes toward the programs and services of Twin Cities Habitat... and helps build five homes each year! That means five more local families can access the transformational power of homeownership. These families will experience the safety and wellbeing that comes with having accessible, stable, and affordable housing. Now they can build generational wealth, plant deep roots in their community, and have space to flourish.

Thank you for all you do to support ReStore! Here's to another amazing year.
