Top 5 Ways to Support the New ReStore

Top 5 Ways to Support the New ReStore

The announcement of our Brooklyn Park ReStore has been met with great enthusiasm, and we’re so thankful for everyone’s support and well wishes. People have also been asking how they can get involved and support the new store. Without further delay, here are the top five ways you can support the new Brooklyn Park ReStore!

1. Donations, Donations, Donations

ReStore donation drop-off door.ReStore’s greatest area of need is donations because donations are the lifeblood of our work. We rely on product donations from businesses, sub-contractors, and countless individuals just like you! Whether you’re donating a small lamp or a large refrigerator, your donation impacts local families right here in the Twin Cities. Because all ReStore revenue goes right back to Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. In fact, revenue from ReStore currently funds the building of FIVE Habitat homes each year!

Watch the journey of your donation to ReStore.

While the Brooklyn Park ReStore is not ready to accept donations just yet, we encourage you to please donate to our Minneapolis and New Brighton ReStore locations, where items are being set aside from Brooklyn Park. Keep us in mind as you’re doing spring cleaning or summer home renovations, and if you’re moving or downsizing. Please donate to ReStore. We have convenient drop-off and pickup options available!

2. Spread the News

We often joke that ReStore is the Twin Cities’ best kept secret – but we don’t actually want to be a secret! Please tell your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, and fellow community members that a new ReStore is coming to Brooklyn Park. It’s a convenient new option for thrifty, eco-conscious shoppers who love a good deal and want to help the environment. And, as we just mentioned, it’s a great option to get rid of unwanted (but reusable) items.

An easy way to get the word out is to follow/like/share ReStore content on Facebook and Instagram. We’re posting progress updates and videos about the new store, along with tips on shopping and donating.

3. Subscribe and Save

When you subscribe and save, you’ll be the first to know when the new ReStore starts accepting donations, when volunteer positions become available, when job opportunities are posted, and when we launch DIY contests. Plus, if you’re a VIP, you’ll get added perks when we celebrate Brooklyn Park ReStore’s Grand Opening. Subscribe and save today!

4. Volunteer

ReStore volunteer LauraThis summer, we will need volunteers to help prepare the Brooklyn Park retail space. Tasks may include building shelves for inventory and eventually organizing products on the sales floor. We’ll need volunteers to help open the store by meeting the needs of an influx of shoppers and donors. Once the store is open, we’ll need help with assisting customers, bringing products onto the floor, and helping people load or unload items. ReStore shifts are in high demand because they are generally four hours instead of a full day, making it more convenient to volunteers. If you sign up for Hot Deals and VIP, you’ll be the first to know when volunteer opportunities are available.

5. Monetary Donations

It takes a lot of time, effort, and—yes—money to open a new ReStore. We’re currently renovating the building space to make it work for our shoppers and donors, and any amount of financial contribution makes a huge difference. Every dollar helps us get the materials needed for renovations, building upgrades, equipment, in-store signage, and so much more. You can designate a donation to the Brooklyn Park ReStore on our dedicated ReStore Donation page.

With your help, we can bring the Brooklyn Park ReStore to life. Learn more about our new location on our Brooklyn Park ReStore page that includes progress photos and important FAQs.
