Make Your Tax-Deductible End-of-Year Donations to ReStore Now!
2020 is almost over, and that means time is running out for you to make your tax-deductible donation to ReStore! Whether you’re a homeowner looking...
When cleaning out your home, you’re bound to come across something you either no longer want or no longer need. Some items you can’t get rid of fast enough, others can be difficult to part with. Donating your once beloved items to be reused and cherished by someone else, can be very rewarding. Imagine that drawer of unused, mismatched knobs and handles of yours accentuating one-of-a-kind kitchen cabinets or bedroom furniture in someone else’s home. Perhaps, that dresser you’ve held onto for years will get refinished for a nursery or bedroom. The possibilities are endless.
If you’re looking to free up some space, donating is an excellent option for a number of reasons. Not sure where to donate? Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity ReStore may be the perfect option for you. Your donation not only helps the environment but the community, as well. Plus, it’s tax-deductible.

Although it may be best to throw out some of the items you find while cleaning out your home or garage, much of what you find can be recycled or reused. In 2016 alone, Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity ReStore kept 960 tons of materials out of local landfills, which in turn reduces greenhouse gas. Your donation to ReStore would further improve those numbers, making our world a healthier place to live.
Not only are you helping ReStore shoppers find what they're looking for at a great price, but you’re also helping Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity build homes for people in our community. Revenue from sales at our stores help to sponsor the building of Habitat homes in our local community. Last year, the ReStore supported six homes. Your donation can help families get safe, stable and affordable housing in our community.
Yes, anything you donate to ReStore can be written off on your taxes. You’ll receive a tax receipt when you drop off your items. It is up to you to determine the value of what you donated. When tax season rolls around, that amount can be included in your returns.
We’re glad you’re considering donating items to ReStore, because your donation makes a big impact. You can drop off donations at either of our ReStore locations during regular drop-off hours, 10am–5pm Tuesday through Friday and 10am–3pm on Saturday. We're closed Sunday and Monday. Otherwise, for larger items or if you have multiple items to donate, you can schedule a free pickup online!
