How to Donate to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore

Posted by ReStore Staff on Nov 13, 2018 9:00:00 AM

Looking to find a new home for your current appliances, furniture, construction materials, tools, or other home goods? Look no further than Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity ReStore home improve! When you donate to ReStore, you’ll keep good, reusable items out of landfills. Proceeds from the sale of those donated items also support the building of safe, stable Habitat homes for local families.

And, donating to Twin Cities Habitat ReStore is as easy as 1,2,3:

1. Review Items We Accept for Donation

Before you make the trip to one of our locations, make sure you review our list of items we accept for donation.

Also, make sure your items look good and are in great working order. Here’s a step-by-step list on how to prepare your items before bringing them to ReStore.

2. Load Your Items Into Your Vehicle

Do you need cargo blankets, straps, or any other form of protection to haul your item? Depending on its size, you may need to use an SUV or a pickup truck.

If your item is too big for your vehicle, you can request a pick-up from one of the Twin Cities ReStore locations.

3. Drive to Your Nearest ReStore

There are two ReStore locations in the Twin Cities area, which you can find on our website. Once you arrive, you’ll find easy-to-follow signage for the drop-off, and one of our employees will help you unload your vehicle.

That’s it. Our team can take it from there!

How Donating Benefits You

Not only do you get the satisfaction of knowing that you helped Twin Cities residents, like Buffy, receive stable housing, but you’re keeping landfills clear of reusable items!

After making your donation, you’ll receive a donation receipt and a coupon for 20% off anything purchased at one of our Habitat ReStore outlets.

Anyone can donate or shop at ReStore. You don’t have to lift a hammer to help families in your community.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
