ReStore's Give a Chair Some Flair DIY Contest

We want to highlight your upcycling talents for all to see! Transform a kitchen chair (provided by ReStore) to be displayed at our booth at the upcoming Minneapolis Home + Garden Show at the Minneapolis Convention Center! Show attendees and ReStore followers online will vote on their favorite projects. The top three winners will receive prizes. You can then donate your DIY project to be sold at ReStore to help raise money for Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity's mission.

Contest entries must be dropped off at the New Brighton ReStore by February 20, 2026. Our staff will bring the contest entries to the Minneapolis Home + Garden Show to be displayed and voted on from February 25 to March 1. Winners will be announced March 5, 2026.

1. Sign Up & Get a Chair

Fill out the form below to sign up. Then visit any Twin Cities ReStore to pick your chair! Please note: ReStore will provide a basic kitchen chair; availability may vary. Contestants will provide any other materials needed. You may also provide your own chair.

Deadline to sign up and pick up a chair: Saturday, February 14, 2026

2. Work Your Magic

Create a unique DIY project and totally transform your chair. Show off your creativity! Remember to take before-and-after photos of your materials and finished project.

3. Submit Photos & Drop Off Your Entry

Submit your before-and-after photos at the form below. Then, drop off your entry at the New Brighton ReStore by February 20, 2026.

We'll display your project at the Minneapolis Home + Garden Show!

4. Prizes & More

Attendees at the Minneapolis Home + Garden Show (February 25 to March 1) will vote on their favorite projects. We'll also collect votes on social media. The top three winners will each receive a Visa gift card:

First place: $100
Second place: $75
Third place: $50

Participants must sign up and pick up their complimentary chair from ReStore (Brooklyn Park, Minneapolis, or New Brighton locations) by Saturday, February 14. No glass, please. Before photo preferred; after photo of completed project required (submit here). Participant must bring entry to the New Brighton ReStore by February 20, 2026. Donation of item to support ReStore encouraged but not required. Note in your sign-up if you wish to remain anonymous (first name will be shared). Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity and ReStore staff can participate.
