Twin Cities Habitat ReStore is a home improvement outlet open to everyone, whether you're looking for a great deal on building materials, appliances, or furniture, or you have items to donate. Below we'll cover what to expect when you visit, how to donate, and how businesses can partner with us.
You'll find new and gently used items at discount prices, and every purchase helps support Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity's mission to create and expand affordable homeownership opportunities in the Metro. And because ReStore accepts a variety of donations, ReStore keeps millions of pounds of reusable materials out of landfills each year!
ReStore carries furniture, appliances, flooring and tile, doors, windows, paint, cabinets, lighting, and seasonal items like lawn mowers and snow blowers. Because inventory is donated, it changes every day, so each visit to ReStore looks a little different. ReStore is open:
10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday
Closed Sunday & Monday
A few things to keep in mind when you shop:
There are two ways to donate to ReStore: drop off or pickup.
Bring your items directly to any of our three ReStore locations during donation hours (these are different than store hours). Donations accepted:
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday - Friday
10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday
Closed Sunday & Monday
Before you load up your vehicle, review our Donation Guidelines to confirm we can accept your items. If you're unsure, fill out the ReStore questionnaire describing your item(s), and our donations team will get in touch.
When you arrive at ReStore, follow the signs to the donation drop off area, and our staff will unload your items and give you a donation receipt. The receipt includes a 20% off shopping coupon for your next trip to ReStore! (Not valid on red-tag items.)
For larger items or large quantities, ReStore offers free pickup in the seven-county metro area. Request a pickup online, and our donations team will follow up within two business days. Our pickup schedule is usually a week out. If you need your items picked up within 24-48 hours, we offer a priority pickup for a fee through our partner ReSupply.
Place items outside your home (in a garage or driveway) before your scheduled pickup, as our staff cannot enter a residence to retrieve items.
We may not be able to accept every item you would like to donate. Please check out our Donation Guidelines prior to donating with us.
Donations are also tax-deductible. Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity ReStore will provide a donation receipt so you can use it as a tax deduction. Another perk for donating to ReStore! (MN Certificate of Exempt Status Number: ES 30657, Federal Tax ID: 363363171).
If your business has excess inventory, surplus materials, or items being replaced during a renovation, ReStore can help! Donating to ReStore clears space on your shelves and your books, keeps usable items out of the waste stream, and supports affordable homeownership opportunities in the Twin Cities.
The best way to get started it to submit a business donation request through the ReStore website. You can describe what you have, attach photos, and ask questions at your convenience. Our Business Donations Manager will be in touch.
We offer the same free or priority pickup service as we do for residential pickups. Once your donation is received, you'll get a tax receipt to use toward your deduction. ReStore does not assign a value to donated items, so be sure to work with your tax preparer to determine the deduction amount.
