Donating Hardware and Tools to ReStore

Wondering what to do with extra tools and hardware taking up room in your garage, basement, or storage space? Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity ReStore can help! We accept new and used donationskeep reading to find out more.

Hardware

Maybe you have leftover hardware from an upgrade project. Or maybe you have unwanted hardware from that same project. However you accumulated your unneeded items, we might be able to take them at ReStore. We accept a variety of hardware donations (drop-off donations only):

  • Fasteners (original boxes)

  • Hinges (no painted hinges)

  • Locks

  • Residential door knobs

We cannot accept cans or jars of fasteners or commercial hardware. However, you can check out our DIY Headquarters for ideas on how to repurpose items ReStore can't take!

Tools

ReStore also accepts hand and power tools:

  • Brand-name working power tools

  • Fiberglass ladders

  • Hand tools

  • Lithium ion cordless power tools

  • Shop-vacs

Donated tools must have original factory safety features still installed. For safety reasons, we cannot take recalled or non-functioning items, wooden or non-fiberglass ladders, homemade tools, nickel cadmium or older cordless power tools, and radial arm saws.
