DIY Toad Houses and Bee Baths [VIDEO]

Toad Houses

If you have a yard, you've probably seen a toad or two. Even if you haven't seen them, they're still there—toads are usually more active later in the evening. Toads are beneficial for our environment: they eat bugs, dig holes, and find grubs. And we can help them by making cozy toad-sized homes.

All it takes is a broken pot, a "door" cut into a plastic pot, or a section of wide PVC pipe. The best part? Add your own artistic flair to your toad homes before placing them in your lawn or garden!

Bee Baths

Pollinators, such as bees and butterflies, are important both for plants and our environment. But did you know that pollinators need water just like any other animal? Providing water for them can be challenging because we don't want standing water or mosquitos. Bees can't use a birdbath because they don't have anything to stand on if the water is too deep. That's where bee baths come in handy! Simply fill a pie plate or sink top with stones and water.
