Starting late last year, Kinfine has made regular donations to ReStores in the Twin Cities and Las Vegas containing samples of their furniture. Our Minneapolis ReStore received the first donation of designer chairs on November 29, and the stock nearly cleared out within two weeks of hitting the sales floor!
When Kinfine was deciding what to do with their inventory of samples, one of their staff members immediately thought of Habitat for Humanity ReStores.
"I’ve personally supported Habitat for years, and learned about ReStore when I remodeled my home," said Ty from Kinfine. "This donation was a perfect way to expand the level of support to Habitat."
ReStore shoppers were thrilled with fresh inventory of designer chairs, which varied in shape, size, color, and pattern.
"It was great to see the customers' reactions to the pieces," said Robin Henrichsen, ReStore Donations Manager. "Many shoppers had fun mixing and matching the patterns and colors to blend in with their current decor."
Staff at Kinfine relayed how easy it was to work with ReStore staff, and that they found the team to be incredibly easy to work with.
"You also feel good about how they are using your donation," Ty added.
Twin Cities ReStores perform an average of 140 donation pick ups each month, and our veteran Truck Drive, Don, just surpassed the 100,000 miles driven in support of Habitat. The donations team at the store has partnered with a variety of businesses, with companies donating everything from their entire hardware inventory, to all the furniture and decor used for a traveling event!
"The process was great," Michele at Kinfine told us. "We were able to schedule a pick up time that worked for our work schedule without any difficulty, and the pick-up driver was extremely friendly and helpful in getting everything loaded into the truck."
Between the Las Vegas and Twin Cities locations, KinFine has donated nearly 1,500 pieces to be sold at ReStores.
"We are incredibly grateful to the local businesses who support us with their donations," said Robin. "Since ReStores are donation-based, our entire inventory depends on the generosity of the local community. Large business donations have a positive impact on our sales, which, in turn, lead to more opportunities to build Habitat homes."
