DIY Lampshade Transformations [VIDEO]

What do you do when you have an outdated or out-of-style lamp at home? Before you throw it away and buy a replacement, consider giving your current lamp a new look! You can find affordable lampshades at places like ReStore and other thrift stores. The new-to-you lampshade might shine on its own, but you can also use Jan's ideas to take it to the next level:

• Use wood shims: Add some texture by staining wood shims and hot gluing them to your lampshade
• Add character: Create a collage by adding sheet music, old newspaper, pictures printed on vellum, and more. Simply use spray adhesive on the paper and the lampshade.
• Create an art project: Pick a stamp and an ink color, then create your masterpiece! Stencils, fabric, and ribbon also create an artistic effect. This is a great craft projects for kids, too.
